Technology Project by Pearl

First I started with a glass bottle. Then I got some PVA glue and  a paint brush. Next I tore some coloured pieces of paper out of old magasines. I glued the coloured paper to the bottle, making sure there were no gaps. I covered the whole bottle and then left it to dry. When it was dry I tied a red ribbon around the top. And now it is ready to give away as a candle holder to someone for christmas.

It was fun making it- you should give it a try!

Tooth Twins!!

Hi, we are Kate and Frankie and we both lost the same tooth!  Frankie lost her tooth last night and Kate  lost her tooth this morning!

Frankie lost hers by eating an apple and Kate lost her tooth by eating toast. 

This morning we came to school with a gap in our mouths. 

Frankie got 3 dollars for her tooth. Kate hasn't gotten her money yet but she's hoping she'll get 3 dollars as well. Frankie has lost 9 teeth all up and Kate's lost 8.

Myer's Party

On Sunday I went to Myer's party.  First we went to JUMP. There were  so many Trampolines there.  I played on Foam Safety and Dodge Ball.  After that we went to Myer's house and played handball and had cake. We had a NERF fight (eventually we had to stop because Myer got hit in the eye twice!!!). Most people got ANGRY at ME because I took some of the bullets! I got Myer the MINECRAFT combat handbook.  He also got 7 NERF guns,  heaps of LEGO and Bionicles.  I helped Sailor to go on the little slide at Myer's house.  We played MINECRAFT on the Ipad as well. It was a great day but I felt really tired when I got home.

Flutters

This morning I had a tennis lesson with my sister. When my dad came to pick me up I noticed something orange. When I got closer I realised it was a butterfly! I let it climb onto my hand and then I carefully got in the car. I looked closer and realised it has a broken wing! I decided to call it Flutters. I took it to school to share news. Gail, my teacher, told me to take it to the swan plants, in the memory garden, to let it go.  One of my best friends, Jaime, came with me and took some photos. We let it go and I hope it's happy there!

Emerson's Trip To Melbourne

In the school holidays I went to Melbourne, in Australia, to see my dad. He was doing a boring job, well boring for me. Actually I guess it isn't boring because he is a Production Designer and I get to go to different countries like Canada, Melbourne, which is in Australia, and Vancouver. Before we got on the plane we went to the Koru Lounge. Yummy! Then we went on the plane!

 It took ages to get to Melbourne. It took three hours!  Finally we got there. Then I saw my dad. I gave him a big hug! 

While in Melbourne I went to the Melbourne Museum. It was huge and guess what, there was a blue tounged lizard! Also there were two shells -one was a giant turtle shell and the other one was an armadillo shell. We also  went to the Melbourne aquarium. There were a lot of lizards there!  There was a huge salt water crocodile and a bunch of stingrays, mostly there were just things that can go in the water. 

Too bad we were bad for the whole time we were there in Melbourne! We were being naughty and mum and dad were not happy with us!!

We flew back to New Zealand on  the last Sunday of the school holidays. I was glad to be home.

Jayden is learning to play the guitar!!

I have been learning to play the guitar. So, trust me, it is a lot of fun! I think I am up to number 5 in my lessons. I got my guitar in Pakuranga, 
you know, at the mall. Opposite lotto. I didn't know if I should  choose to do guitar then piano, or piano then guitar. But I chose to do guitar then piano. Now I feel that I want to do piano! I meant I want to play the keyboard. Maybe I can ask if I can play the keyboard anyway. I have learned the chords D, A7, G, and D7 on the guitar. I have a really, really awesome guitar. If you look up you will see a picture of me playing my guitar.
