Urban sprawl in Room 17

We Built This City......

First we had to choose our materials....

Now it's time to get to work.....

We built a hotel so that people from out of Auckland will have a place  to stay. Ty, Deklan, Demitrius

It takes a lot of  sellotape to make a building!

Gail put out a lot of tools that we could use to make our city. Charlie

Gail cut bits of masking tape and put it on the edge of the maths trolley for us to use, to save us time. Eloise

Getting sellotape off the wall to use. It saved me a lot of time because Gail put it there. Liam

I made a soft bed because the dog  had a baby. It was made out of cotton wool. Charlie.

I made a little basket for my little bunny rabbit. It is made out of a bottle top and double sided sticky tape. Rose.

What do you think we are talking about?

We tried so hard and it turned out really well.
It is a pet shop with lots of pets.
We chose a pet shop because we love animals!!
We did a three story house because we had lots of pets.
We made a pool and tunnel to play in.
We like the outside of our pet shop because we put so much detail on it.
We made a storage room to put our stuff in.

It was really hard to make. It was unstable and kept falling apart ! We chose the Skytower because it was very exiting. it was George's idea to  add the bungee jumpers.

I am  making traffic lights for the roads in  the city. The cars will be safer and not crash. Zach

 I made a sign for our pet shop that said Precious Pets so people would know what it was. Emily

 Gail put some paint out for us to paint parts of our buildings. After that our buildings looked much better!  Jayshal

I am cutting tinfoil for a decoration for my pet shop. Later on that didn't work out. I ended up not using it. Rose.

Charlie and I decided to make a pet shop called Go Pets. We had some tough and tumbles but we got there! We made a pet shop because pets are VERY fun to play with!!! My favorite part is all the pets! Charlie and Rose.

We made a dentist because if there was no dentist people would not get their teeth checked. We made a waiting place. and two beds for the people to lie in. Holiday

we made a dentist so your teeth don't go all yucky and they can check they are all right. Ruby

I made a lollie shop because I thought that a city

needs lollies because if we didn't have lollies

we would be sad all the time and lollies make us

Well I really wanted a pet......until I saw that they were CLOSED!!!!!  Gail

We put a clock on our pet shop so the people who wanted to know the time could know the time.
We put lots of decorations on so it could stand out.
We put the tissue box on the top because it has animals on it and it would make a perfect storage
room.

We put horses in the pet shop because we wanted people to see if they were good to be on a farm and good to ride on in races. Emma

There are  lots of lollies and sweets in my lollie store.  It took two days to make these. To make my candy canes I used two different colours, red and white.  by Liam

This is our pet shop that we made together. We made a tall tower with flowers on it so that people could see our shop more easily. By Emily and Zealand

I  have beds in my  hospital so people that are sick can  have a  rest.  Zach

When we made The Harbour Bridge we  got two pieces of cardboard. Then we painted it.We used the colours black, blue, purple, green and brown. First  we started creating the road. To make the road we used a piece of paper and we painted  it. Then we left it on the table to dry.We waited and we waited and soon it was dried, so we took it. Then we created three signs that said '' THE NEW CLIP ON'',''THE NEWEST CLIP ON IN THE WORLD'' and ''COMING SOON''. After we did the signs we put three cars on the road and we put blu tack under the cars so that they couldn't move. After that we made the traffic lights. To make the traffic lights we used some black paper that we cut into a shape of a traffic light. Next we made three circles in the middle of the traffic lights so that they would look like the lights of the traffic lights. We started  making the ocean under the bridge. To make the ocean we used a normal piece of paper and we painted it dark blue.Then we got another piece of paper. We used a marker to draw the sea animals for the ocean.Then we cut the animals out and stuck them on the ocean with blu tack.  We used  bits of card board and painted them purple blue and used blue tac to stick the bits of cardboard on. They  became our waves for the ocean. When we finished we carried on working on the harbour bridge. We put the road on some wood. Then we put the road with the wood on a big card board box. After that we put the ocean under a table and the bridge on top of the table. Then it was finished. By Hanna and Jayshal.

We put some money in our vet shop so we can give people change. Hazel, Madeline

We put cotton balls on the seats to make them comfortable.We got some cotton balls and painted them green to make some trees and bushes. Emma, Grace, Molly

We decided to make a farm because no-one else had. There were pet shops and vets but no farms!
Farm animals are cool because you can ride them or play with them. Madeline

I made a house because people need a place to live. I made a pool so on hot days, in summer, instead of going somewhere else you could just cool off in the pool. Ruby

We decided to make a doctor's because no-one else was and if people got hurt or sick then they could go there. Zealand
